CF Napa is celebrating 50 years of developing and transforming brands through strategic brand design and marketing. Founded as Colonna & Farrell in 1976 by Ralph Colonna and John Farrell (the C and F in CF Napa), they forged relationships with Napa Valley icons such as Beringer and Robert Mondavi and continued to expand their client base within the wine industry. In 2001, David Schuemann joined CF Napa as the Creative Director and within a year of David’s tenure, he and his wife, Lisa Schuemann, purchased CF Napa and made the strategic decision to pivot the company’s focus to exclusively alcohol beverages with the vision of establishing the agency as an expert in the category.
The firm has developed and restaged countless brands through story, packaging, and visual ethos.
Through the 50 years in business, says David Schuemann, CF Napa has been “an integral part in shifting wine industry marketing and branding from the exclusively classic European aesthetic to a mindset that allows for more contemporary designs. Our label designs have been featured in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and SF MOMA.”
He adds that “our expertise lies in our process — from project conception to conclusion, we balance listening with leading to execute solutions rooted in strategy that connect strongly with consumers and drive sales, whether in the domestic or international marketplace.”
